We are delighted to be able to show you all that we have been up to over the previous few weeks.

Trip to Hilltop Farm Shop

August kicked off with a trip to Hilltop Farm & Zack’s Barn for a couple of our residents. They had a lovely lunch and made a couple of feathered friends.

Dining Room Refurbishment

The dining room refurbishment began in earnest on 10th August and with any refurbishment, there have inevitably been some disruption, a little dust and some changes to our usual routine while the work takes place.
We have had to do things slightly differently for a little while but our residents are still enjoying their meals, activities, conversations, laughter and all the familiar things that make James Hirons feel like home. We’ll simply be adapting around the work as we go.
We’re incredibly excited to see the finished room and can’t wait to share the BIG REVEAL with you all!

Solar Eclipse

We were extremely excited to witness the once in a generation solar eclipse and our wonderful Activities team took the residents down to the bottom garden at James Hirons to get the best view through their eclipse glasses.

Happy Retirement

In mid August, we said “goodbye and happy retirement” to one of our Senior Care Assistants, Pauline.

Sunflowers in bloom

Despite the relentless heat of July and August, our sunflowers have done amazingly well.

Our 100 year old resident measured our tallest sunflower. It is a whopping 8ft 10inches!!

Stratford Shopping Trip

A couple of our residents had a lovely shopping trip to Stratford.
