Since opening in 1953, James Hirons Care Home Leamington Spa is dedicated to offering high-quality residential and respite care. Established as a charity, our mission is to provide a safe, supportive and dignified environment where older people can enjoy comfort, independence and community.
Over the decades, we have earned recognition for our high standards of care, our award-winning gardens (regularly acknowledged in Leamington in Bloom), and our long-serving, highly trained staff team. Our commitment to compassion and professionalism gives countless families peace of mind.
Fees: what is included
When you choose James Hirons Care Home Leamington Spa, your weekly fees cover a wide range of essential services:
- 24-hour care from fully trained staff
- Emergency call bell system
- GP and dentist visits (or support with surgery appointments)
- Fresh, home-cooked meals including special dietary options
- Broadband Wi-Fi across the home
- Full heating and electricity
- Personal laundry service

Some optional extras are available at an additional charge, such as:
- Hairdressing and chiropody appointments

Meet our team and Trustees
Our home is led by Allan Fairweather, RN Dip H.Ed. RMA, an experienced and compassionate manager who ensures daily operations run smoothly and residents receive outstanding care.
We are supported by a Board of Trustees who oversee the governance of the charity:

- Barbara Beal – Trustee for Duty of Candour.

How much are the fees?
Our fees range from £1,300 – £1,714 per week depending on the room. There are additional charges based on the dependency needs of the resident.
Does the home provide Sky or cable?
There is no Sky or cable, but all televisions have access to Freeview channels.
Does the home provide radios?
Residents who wish to use a radio can bring in their own or use the radio facility on the television.
Can I bring in my own possessions?
You can bring small items of furniture and personal possessions to personalise bedrooms, on discussion with the home.
Can I bring a pet?
Pets cannot stay at James Hirons. However, they are very welcome during visits.
What is the application process?
A visit to the home is a good first step. This will be followed by discussions with the Manager who will advise on further arrangements. A pre-admission assessment is always carried out. Contact us for more information.
Does the home provide respite care or convalescence?
Yes, James Hirons can provide post-operative support during convalescence as well as respite care, from one night or as long as needed.

Situated in the historic spa town of Royal Leamington Spa, our home enjoys a central yet peaceful location. Residents benefit from easy access to the town’s Pump Rooms, Jephson Gardens, shops, cafés and cultural attractions.
We’re also close to Warwick, Kenilworth and Stratford-upon-Avon, home of Shakespeare and the Royal Shakespeare Company. The Cotswolds and several lovely National Trust properties nearby provide wonderful opportunities for day trips.
