James Hirons April Newsletter
We are delighted to be able to show you what we have been up to over the last few weeks.
Spring is here and we continue to watch the beautiful gardens bloom.

St David’s Day

The residents at James Hirons celebrated St David’s Day with a visit from entertainers Noel and Graham who were wonderful, as always.

Mothers Day

In the build up to Mothers day, some beautiful decorations were made and displayed throughout the home in readiness for the special afternoon tea.
All of our mother’s received a lovely gift in the morning and then enjoyed an afternoon tea with Prosecco and sandwiches and cakes and a gorgeous lemon sponge cake made courtesy of Christopher (thank you so much)…. A massive thank you to all staff who have worked Mother’s Day and for those who have helped behind the scenes …. You are all amazing and very much appreciated.

Birthday Fun
Our lovely resident celebrated her birthday this month, and it was a joy to mark such a special occasion together. Surrounded by family and friends, the day was made even more memorable with a fantastic performance from singer Danielle Cooke, who truly made the celebration extra special.

Comic Relief

James Hirons is always delighted to welcome pupils from North Leamington School and they certainly didn’t disappoint when they came to sing for residents on 20th March. Many thanks to Aimee and Annabelle for keeping us all entertained.

Residents decorated biscuits to commemorate Red Nose day. These were shared amongst the home and needless to say, didn’t last long.
Birthday Celebrations
It’s always such a joy to celebrate our residents’ birthdays, and this one was extra special! We were delighted to welcome the lovely Amy, who provided wonderful entertainment for the occasion.
Surrounded by family and friends, our resident enjoyed a truly memorable day filled with laughter, music, and great company. A fantastic time was had by all!

Discussion Groups, Book Club and much, much more!!
Every week, our residents enjoy a wide range of activities designed to keep them stimulated, entertained and, above all, happy.
Throughout March, we hosted engaging discussions on International Women’s Day, Thomas Telford and St Patrick, alongside fascinating talks including “Prince Albert and Prince Philip: The Power Behind the Throne” and “Ancient History of Easter Traditions.”
We regularly hold exercise and meditation classes, led both by our in-house Activities Team and visiting specialists. This month, we were delighted to welcome Richard from Fitnnis, whose popular armchair exercise sessions are always a hit with our residents.
In the lead-up to Easter, we were also pleased to welcome William from St Mary Magdalene’s Parish Church, who led a beautiful and meaningful Easter service in the home.
Bonding Squares

We are delighted to share an update on the Bonding Square donations. Our dedicated knitters have now lovingly created and donated 200 squares to neonatal units across the UK. These special squares help mums and babies maintain a precious bond when they cannot be together during hospital stays.
Well done to all involved
