The perfect opportunity to let you know the things that we have been up to in July!!
Summer Garden Party
The very much anticipated Summer Garden Party arrived at the very end of June and what a day it was!!!
Residents, staff and the local community came together in the wonderful grounds of the home to enjoy refreshments, wonderful entertainment from Ella Kendrick whose beautiful voice created such a lovely atmosphere and was enjoyed by everyone, a brilliant raffle and fantastic games and stalls.
We raised an amazing £1,500


We are so grateful for everyone’s incredible support and generosity. Thank you to everyone who donated tombola prizes, beautiful plants, thoughtful gifts, delicious cakes, and wonderful goodies for our hampers. Your kindness helped make the day extra special for our residents and their loved ones.

A huge thank you to Mayor Sarah Boad for taking the time to officially open our Summer Garden Party. It was an honour to welcome you, and we are so grateful for your support in helping make the day so special.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the businesses and organisations whose generosity helped make our event such a success:

Your donations and support are truly appreciated and helped make the day even more memorable for our residents and their families.

A massive thank you also goes to all of our incredible staff and volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes setting up, decorating, organising and ensuring everything ran smoothly on the day. Your dedication, teamwork and enthusiasm made the event possible, and we are so grateful for everything you do.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who came along, spent time with our residents and their loved ones, joined in the fun, and helped create such a warm and happy community spirit.

We couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you. Together, you’ve helped create wonderful memories that will be cherished for a long time to come.
Trip to Wellesbourne Air Field
Residents enjoyed a trip out to Wellesbourne airfield and had a lovely lunch Touchdown Café they were lucky to see plenty of planes coming in and taking off and enjoyed chatting to the pilots


Anyone for tennis?


Our residents fully embraced the spirit of Wimbledon with plenty of strawberries and cream and a glass of cool Pims.
Stratford upon Avon trip

Staff were delighted to be able to take some of our residents to Stratford for an afternoon which also included a trip to the Butterfly Farm.


Everyone enjoyed the peace and tranquillity and some of the butterflies took time to sit on our residents.

The day was rounded of with cream teas and ice cream. Thanks to all the staff involved.



Garden Therapy
Our residents did a wonderful job of putting together hanging baskets from the flowers left over from the summer fete.


World Cup Blues

It didn’t quite go the way we had hoped but we enjoyed cheering England on.



The first 9 V.C.’s of the Somme


Brian Iredale visited the home to give a talk on the first 9 Victoria Cross medals of the Somme, one of which had been presented to his Uncle.
Other activities
The residents continue with their project in recognition of Sir David Attenborough. They are focussing on his “Blue Planet” documentaries and we hope to bring you photos soon of the artwork they have been producing.
Any residents who wish to receive Holy Communion are invited to join Pam and Brian from the local church who visit the home every few weeks.
The monthly dominoes tournament continues and the current winner retained the trophy for another month.
During the month of July, our residents also took part in various exercise classes, card making, book club, knitting club, discussions on newspapers from 1950’s and Tai Chi.
Fitness with Dee
A huge thank you to Dee, our fantastic personal trainer, for another fun-filled exercise session with our residents! Using resistance bands and bodyweight exercises, everyone got moving, shared plenty of laughs, and had a wonderful time.
It’s amazing to see how staying active can bring so many smiles. Thank you, Dee – we can’t wait for your next visit!



Resident Day trips – Lavender Farm
We have been very lucky with the glorious weather this summer and this has meant that we have been able to take many of our residents to various local attractions over the last few weeks.





The Warwickshire Lavender Farm was a huge hit and we hope to visit again next year during the season.
