Leamington Care Home, James Hirons, shows growth and spirit
Barbara Beal, Chair of the James Hirons Board of Trustees, has published our June 2025 Bi-Annual Report, reflecting a period of growth, innovation, and resilience.
The report begins by welcoming new residents and staff, while also paying tribute to long-serving trustee Mary Stark, who recently stepped down after years of dedicated service. In her place, we welcome Anne Stevens as a new trustee, with further recruitment ongoing.
Keeping care affordable despite rising costs
Despite economic challenges and rising operational costs, we’re continuing to put residents first. Room rates were modestly increased from April 2025, but we remain committed to keeping fees as low as possible while ensuring financial sustainability.
New minibus and events enrich life at Leamington Care Home, James Hirons
Highlights from the past year include the purchase of a new minibus, enabling residents to enjoy trips to local theatres, cafés, and garden centres. Seasonal celebrations such as Christmas, Easter, and St Patrick’s Day have brought joy to residents, and anticipation is already building for the annual Summer Garden Party, scheduled for 12th July 2025.
Heritage and day care facility launch mark key milestones
A major milestone was the launch of our historical booklet in January, developed in partnership with the Lillington Local Historical Society and Warwick Archives, which traces James Hirons’ fascinating heritage. Another key development was the opening of a new day care facility in May 2025, offering fun activities, excellent food, and personalised care for those who attended.

Looking ahead: strengthening community connections for the future
